Meet Monique.
Hi! My name is Monique, and I am a licensed professional counselor here at Safe Space Therapeutic!
I am passionate about serving women who are navigating life’s most tender transitions, including perinatal challenges (postpartum depression/anxiety, infertility), motherhood, grief, trauma, body image concerns, disordered eating, relationship issues, career challenges, and self-esteem struggles.
I earned my undergraduate degree in General Studies from Houston Baptist University (now Houston Christian University) in 2007. I am a former educator, as I served for 6 years as a Special Education teacher. In 2012, I earned my first Master’s degree in Guidance & Counseling, and I served as a school counselor for about 12 years. I earned my most recent Master’s degree in Christian Counseling from Houston Christian University in 2021. I became a fully licensed professional counselor in 2023. Throughout the years, I have received training in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), disordered eating, body image issues, college and career counseling, and perinatal mental health.
My approach is culturally sensitive, faith-focused (at your discretion), and rooted in evidence-based techniques, including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered, and other forms of therapeutic care. Together, we’ll explore your story, uncover resilience, and build a future aligned with your values and purpose.
I enjoy spending time with my husband and children, watching the latest Netflix movie or show, reading personal growth books, and writing in my spare time.

Meet Michelle.
Hello, my name is Michelle, and I am an associate therapist at Safe Space Therapeutic!
I earned my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and am now a Licensed Master Social Worker under the supervision of Jaclyn D. Satchel, LCSW-S, PMH-C. I recently completed training in EMDR, which is used to help my clients process different types of trauma.
As a therapist, I wholeheartedly embrace an Integrative Person-Centered approach to therapy, acknowledging the significance of considering the entirety of an individual. I am deeply committed to the belief that addressing mental health challenges demands a profound understanding of each person's distinctive experiences, strengths, and goals.
My areas of focus include expecting and postpartum mothers, individuals living with chronic illness and their families, the neurodivergent population (teens and adults), as well as individuals and families in crisis or coping with trauma.
I enjoy spending meaningful time with my spouse and children in my free time. I also enjoy engaging in outdoor pursuits, crafting thoughtful gift assortments, expressing my creativity through digital artwork, and immersing myself in healthcare and mental health literature. Feel free to schedule a FREE 10-minute consultation with me!

Hello, my name is Luz Liriano, and I am an associate therapist at Safe Space Therapeutic!
I earned my Master of Social Work degree from the Yeshiva University Wurzweiler School of Social Work and am now a Licensed Master Social Worker under the supervision of Jaclyn D. Satchel, LCSW-S, PMH-C. I have received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and strengths-based therapy.
My therapeutic approach is primarily strengths-based, grounded in the belief that every individual possesses capacities and resilience that can be nurtured to promote growth and healing. I emphasize trauma-informed care, recognizing the importance of understanding past experiences in order to create a safe, validating, and supportive therapeutic space. I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors. Through this collaborative process, clients can develop healthier thinking patterns, emotional responses, and behaviors that support their overall well-being.
I enjoy spending quality time with my family, especially my 3-year-old daughter. I find joy in cooking and often serve as a source of guidance and support for friends. As a Spanish speaker, I value connecting with the Spanish-speaking community and appreciate exploring diverse cultures and cuisines. I believe that life’s purpose is rooted in compassion, intention, and creating meaningful change—both within ourselves and in the lives of others.

Meet Ada.
Hello, my name is Ada Iztezkametl González, and I am an associate therapist at Safe Space Therapeutic!
I earned my Master of Science in Social Work degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker under the supervision of Rosa Tupina Yaotonalcuahtli, LCSW-S. I have over 20 years of experience in social work and 7 years in mental health.
My work centers on trauma-informed and decolonized care, honoring the ways colonialism, intergenerational harm, and cultural displacement impact mental health. I am passionate about walking alongside women who are navigating complex trauma, identity wounds, racial trauma, postpartum, self-esteem issues, anxiety, depression, and carrying the mental load. I also really enjoy working with teens/adolescents navigating through tough times.
In our work together, we will move at the pace of your nervous system. I integrate somatic practices using the Trauma Conscious Yoga Method ®, an evidence-based trauma modality to help you gently process what has felt overwhelming or fragmented. I also incorporate Mindfulness, EcoTherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Processing Therapy in sessions. I believe in taking a holistic approach to mental health using Indigenous knowledge that sees wellness as an integration of psychological, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellness.
Outside the office, you will find me enjoying nature, taking hikes, practicing Danza Mexica, getting to know herbs and plants, and spending time with my family.
